Supplier Spotlight: Huynh Duc — CNC Milling, Sheet Metal Bending & 3D CMM Inspection in Vietnam
April 3, 2026 · 7 min read
Part of our Supplier Spotlight series — real factory visits, real photos, no stock images.
Most manufacturing factories in Vietnam focus on one process. What makes a multi-process factory interesting — and valuable — is when it can combine CNC milling, sheet metal bending, and in-house dimensional inspection under one roof. That's what you get at Huynh Duc Production Trading Services Co., Ltd.
This is our eighth Supplier Spotlight — a series where we show US procurement managers the actual audited factories inside Dewin's Vietnam network. Real photos from real site visits. No stock images. No anonymous "network" factories. This edition: a combined machining and fabrication shop with one standout capability that most factories at this scale don't have — a 3D Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM).
Previous spotlights: Bueno Technology (CNC), Altop Precision Die Casting, NAPEC (CNC + CMM), HDP Precision Mechanical, Minh Quang Multi-Process, Eguchiseiko Die Cast, and Hirata Precision Industrial.
⚠️ Section 301 Tariff Alert
US importers currently pay a 25% Section 301 tariff on CNC machined parts and fabricated metal components sourced from China — HTS Chapter 84 (machinery parts), Chapter 73 (steel articles), Chapter 76 (aluminum articles). This is on top of standard MFN duties. Vietnam-origin goods are not subject to Section 301. Standard MFN rates on most machined/fabricated parts: 0–6.5%.

What We Saw on the Factory Floor
1. Workshop Overview — Organized Production Environment
The main production floor at Huynh Duc shows a well-organized multi-process environment. CNC machining equipment and sheet metal fabrication tools are arranged in a logical production flow, with clear aisle marking and equipment spacing that allows safe material movement between stations. For US procurement teams, floor organization is a leading indicator — factories that can't manage their floor space tend to have the same problems managing production schedules.
2. 3D CMM — Full GD&T Inspection Capability
This is the standout detail: a 3D Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM). A CMM uses a touch-probe to measure part geometry in three dimensions against a CAD model or drawing — giving precise GD&T verification across all planes. This is the gold standard for dimensional inspection in aerospace, automotive Tier 1, and industrial machinery supply chains.
Having a CMM in-house means Huynh Duc can produce First Article Inspection (FAI) reports, PPAP dimensional documentation, and ongoing statistical process control (SPC) data — all without outsourcing inspection to a third-party lab. For US buyers qualifying a new source, this is a meaningful risk reducer.
What Does a 3D CMM Measure?
Geometric Dimensions & Tolerances (GD&T)
- • True position of holes and features
- • Flatness, parallelism, perpendicularity
- • Runout and concentricity
- • Profile of a surface
Why This Matters for Your Parts
- • FAI reports with actual measured vs nominal
- • PPAP Level 3 dimensional submission
- • SPC capability studies (Cpk)
- • Multi-point inspection across complex geometry
CMM inspection is standard in automotive and aerospace supply chains. Finding a factory at this scale in Vietnam with in-house CMM capability is genuinely unusual — and valuable.
3. CNC Milling Machine — Precision Machined Components
The CNC milling center handles the precision machining side of Huynh Duc's capability set. Modern vertical machining center tooling for pockets, slots, contours, and flat surface work. Combined with the in-house CMM, every milled part can be verified dimensionally before it leaves the factory — eliminating the gap between "machined" and "inspected."
4. Sheet Metal Bending Machine — Fabrication Under One Roof
The press brake (bending machine) adds a fabrication dimension to what could otherwise be a pure machining shop. Sheet metal brackets, enclosures, panels, and structural frames can be bent to spec in the same facility where milled components are produced. This matters for assemblies that combine machined and formed metal — you keep the supply chain simple, reduce logistics cost, and have a single point of accountability for quality.
For US buyers currently splitting milled parts and sheet metal work between two or three vendors, Huynh Duc's dual capability is a real consolidation opportunity.
5. Facility Exterior — Established Production Site
The facility exterior shows a dedicated, established manufacturing site — not a converted warehouse or informal workshop. The gate, signage, and compound layout are consistent with a professional manufacturing operation. Dewin's audit team captures exterior documentation as part of our 50-point Dolphin review, since facility ownership and permanence are baseline stability indicators.
Cost Comparison: Huynh Duc (Vietnam) vs China + Section 301
The tariff math on CNC milled and sheet metal parts is significant. China-sourced machined components and fabricated metal parts under HTS Chapters 73, 76, and 84 carry 25% Section 301 tariff on top of base MFN rates. Vietnam is exempt from Section 301.
| Cost Component | China Supplier | Huynh Duc (Vietnam) |
|---|---|---|
| Ex-factory unit price (CNC bracket, est.) | $20.00 | Est. $16.00–$18.00 |
| Section 301 tariff (25%) | +$5.00 | $0.00 |
| Standard MFN duty (~3.7% HTS 84.86) | ~$0.74 | ~$0.63 |
| Estimated landed cost per unit | ~$25.74 | ~$17.63 |
| Est. landed cost savings | ~32% lower landed cost |
Table is illustrative. Actual savings depend on HTS classification, part complexity, quantity, and ex-factory pricing. Dewin provides detailed cost analysis for each project.
On a $300K annual spend in CNC milled and sheet metal parts, a 32% landed cost reduction represents approximately $96K/year back to margin. For sourcing directors evaluating a China exit strategy, that's a straightforward business case — before you count reduced supply chain risk.
